You may be surprised to hear that this is the first BD player, which is I ever own. I tested a lot of BD, DVD, streaming boxing, so I know all their strengths and weaknesses. I waited until now because the first generation of BD drives are low-power (that's why people have complained about slow start, slow to BD, slow menu / AC, etc. load). Knowing the power of this generation, in addition to testing the high-n-coming, I was waiting for something, it's worth the money. I almost buy Samsung BD-390, but it was too expensive. So I waited for the next generation, that the LG BD-5xx series. Since I Ethernet cable, where my entertainment console, I'll take the BD-550. For video streaming do not want wireless (witnessed by people comment on quality, tribes, delays and re-buffer) If I absolutely had to go wireless, I use the 802.11n (not G) and support for 5 GHz band. But there is another thing. The 550 has everything you need and want. Fast processor, starts at less than 10 seconds, the load on the database at the same time (with the exception of a few who have a BD-Live and more complicated). By the way, to use the BD-Live, you must connect a USB memory stick (I use a 4 GB USB one of these little one. Make sure you have FAT or FAT32 format.). Netflix - IE good, fast (I have down/10Mb 25MB). So no problem streaming HD. 3.6 Mb down Netflix required for HD. The beauty of Netflix is to dynamically adjust the quality of what you can actually see the movie. This means you do not always get HD on your Internet connection is unreliable, for example, you are using a wireless connection (see why I stay with cable?) also love the ability to 550 let me see the menu and add Netflix movies directly on the handset (you do not need to go to a computer to add movies to This is your instant queue an incredible feature of the LG BD VUDU - the UI very slow, there is a lag between pressing buttons and election results that keep overshooting or get sick because of this selection of movies cost more, if a clock .. lots of movies (paid every time) Then, depending on their standard of observation can be expensive Pandora -. good, although I do not want to turn on the TV just to hear what my music is stereo .. YouTube - Pain fun good for times when you must share. having to type the URL via remote control. I hope you can connect a USB keyboard and actual use. I think the 550 is a bargain for the price. Very happy with it. Stay away from 3D BD players and TVs. Bleeding edge of substances, at least one year waiting to be solved before wasting your money last but not least. Make sure you update the firmware! And regularly. They solve the various issues and adding new features. I update twice within the first day to open the box. 209 of 213 people found the following review helpful. Netflix streaming best experience, including four similarly priced units. By C. LIU Recently I taught four BD players Netflix streaming capability. LG BD370, Samsung BD P-1600, Sony BDP N460, LG and BD 550 th Previously I courses in HD Netflix streaming player. In addition to years, all BD players I tried all use wired Ethernet, not wireless. (. I have wired Ethernet in my house so I do not have wireless network) I can tell you: LG BD 550 is the absolute best in the Netflix streaming. I returned all the others. BD550 is fast forward, rewind soon as it is faster than any other unit I tried. It's even faster than Roku! Among these devices, the Samsung BD P1600 is the slowest and BD-550 not only shows movies in the Netflix Instant Queue, it also allows you to play movies, you like what you've seen recently picked up (even though you have removed it from your instant queue), settlers, etc. It's just a.
