After you've downloaded the update that bd690 out and HDMI port stop working. Component and composite outputs have worked well. After testing two HDMI cables and connect bd690 through my Denon 3808 receiver and directly to the TV, it was obvious that the problem was bd690. LG customer service was very quick to respond, but the service was average at best. The person who was available, but it was definitely reading from a script. After saying all that I had started to ask me to try other HDMI cables, etc. that I already had done. They even had me download the update file is not properly the first time. Will be updated when my replacement. We hope that the firmware update does not skip the HDMI port every time ... Update: (08/05/2011) named LG replacement of 5 / 7, since I have not yet received. This time I say I'm not making a substitution, but in reality are "repaired" my unit is not what I was told on the phone three weeks ago, and both the 10/07 day window. LG customer service fast falling in their eyes. The conversation went something like this. Wondering when it will be my substitute? We are fixing it will require some time to go through the service I was told a replacement was 10.7 days, I see that in the notes so I'm not making a new one? Yes, you will have that as soon as possible, but you just said that is was getting repaired. So I'm doing a repair? And non-updated or Win2000 problem w ... so I bought the LG BD590, because I have a 3D TV or plan for the near future. However, I bought it at a great price on Amazon.com ($ 199). but if you are upgrading, you will be asked to do, and you have some more things, such as a Google Portway to get on the internet and using your TV to the Internet as a complete installation is complete ... WOW. This unit cost me $ 50 more than BD590, but was worth it ... including the ability to Hulu Plus and other stuff --- games, puzzles and much more to do ... I love it. 21 of 23 people found the following review helpful. Good DVD player! I purchaed crichcreek by the 690 from Amazon a few weeks ago. I have it in time and connected quickly. I use 1.4 HDMI to my Panasonic 50GT25 and optical on my Yamaha receiver for 5.1 audio. The flawessly updated wirelessly with a Netgear dual band router (my router is about 30 meters away in another room). The connection was not a problem just press the button on the router and away you go, there was much less excited.
