3D Technology Checklist This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires: A DisplayFirst, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession. A SourceYour display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system. 3D Content3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game. 3D GlassesFor now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands. HDMI CableTo connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality. If you want to get more information about 3D, shop our 3D products, watch videos, or interact with other customers, we invite you to visit 3D 101, our customer center about everything 3D. Internet-Ready Devices Internet-ready devices use your broadband connection to deliver dynamic content to your television, whether it's streaming video from Netflix, new music from Pandora, or a quick glance at today's weather forecast. Although there is overlap, each manufacturer offers a unique bundle of free or paid services, including streaming video and music, social networking apps, online photo galleries, news and financial updates, weather info, sports scores, and a variety of other smartphone-like applications. Manufacturers continue to add new content to their offerings, keeping customers current through firmware updates, and making a bit of research a prudent step in your buying decision. Iovine finally upgraded my 3-year Blu-ray player and WOW what a difference! Lightning fast loading and access speeds, no more waiting. It has the very important two HDMI outputs. If a receiver is not HDMI 1.4-compatible (3-D), and yours is not, if you bought it in the past six months, this is huge. This means that the HDMI connection with 1.4 to 3-D TV direct to the second HDMI 1.3 HDMI transmit data to a receiver for audio. (A non-HDMI 1.4 receivers, the 3-D video signal does not indicate a new 3-D TV, so a single HDMI output 3-D Blu-ray would have an HDMI-out to listen to your TV and use the analog audio outputs on your receiver is an important trade-off). This is one of only a few Blu-rays with two HDMI outputs, and it saves you an expensive receiver upgrade. This is the smarter and cheaper to make your old (or even a year old) receptor is intuitive menu system and great applications know-how for things like news, weather and games, plus all program video services such as Netflix, Vudu, Cinema Now, Hulu, etc. Streaming worked perfectly, as seen with the free film is available in Full 1080p from Vudu. Easy Wi-Fi, so there's no reason for Ethernet, but have the option of wiring if you have the ability as well. Beautiful design! Slot-load without noisy box. Box Slick, contemporary with the screen that can be programmed to dampen or out, if desired. Large, full-function intelligent remote control that can run multiple devices. I thoroughly research before buying, this is the most comprehensive Blu-ray is the term for $ 300 or less. And I love the ultra-fast load and playback of movies. Exit long minutes (in some cases) up and black screen in your home! 52 of 53 people found this review helpful. 3 3D Blu-ray, is finally out! Nathaniel Allen This is the third 3D Blu-ray which I brought home from our 6 years old Sony carousel player starts spitting hard and it was quite the ordeal to get here, but it is very 'nother story, and you can read about it in the comments of my Sony S580 review, if you're so inclined. I have the Samsung BD-D6700 connected to a display with 2011-model Samsung D8000 plasma, the 59 "model.'m Running through a Denon 3311CI receiver that is HDMI 1.4a, using high-speed access AmazonBasics. The player has HDMI compatible with the digital part of the QWERTY Samsung Remote Double side - the one that comes with their high-end TV sets - even if you do not see that the distance shown as available separately here on Amazon. For starters, why would the 6700 compared to the cheaper 6500 (the favorable competitive with Sony's new S580)? There are three differences I can say: two HDMI outputs, 2D to 3D upconvert, and the obvious styling differences otherwise seem similar players and I expect my comments here apply for 6500, too. Prior to the D6700, I went home last year's BD-C7900, Samsung the 2010 Top Model of the players. There is a Netflix registration is because there is still an open field to fight back, I felt I deliver at a price at last year's model is not: the menu system was polished not completely, and the machine felt a bit lighter and flimsy (especially slide-out DVD tray). These are all treated with this device: The price of this device is less than the price of open box of last year 7900 (the D6700 is not "top notch" this year's unit, but the defining characteristics which ran this C7900 device), the player feels much more substantial construction (partly due to the slot-load design without tray), and while the menu system is known, is certainly cleaner and "confusing", with only a single icon of the slider navigating through
